Dear Dr. Grayson

Without seeking publicity or notoriety I tender you the use of myself for treatment and observation as an aid to the complete restoration of our beloved and great President.

I was stricken, as is the President, on the 15th of Dec— 1918, and have had a continuous and hard battle depending upon my meagre knowledge in the contest as I had no means to employ assistance. Am sixty seven this month, and believe I can make the trip to W— unattended. Have a dear, splendid wife who has been unceasing and untiring in her attention and devotion to me.

Am like our dear President and your splendid self a Virginian—a real American.

For our incomparable President I would love to live—and for him I would cheerfully die—Please command me.

Andrew J. Byrne.
