Dearest Altrude
I was so glad to get your sweet letter, but sorry to know you have been so sick—I had heard nothing of it or you or would certainly have written you—I am hoping to get away for 2 weeks in July—so please don’t come while I am away—We, Cherie, & I are going to Wianno if Gertrude is as well as she is now—Elizabeth Boyd will be here—she, poor child has had a broken knee cap and broken armThe leg cast was takin off today but the arm will have to be in one three weeks longer—both from falls—one week & then the other the next—also my chauffeur—whom I have had 12 years—fell & broke the tendons in both knees—so has been in the Hospital 5 weeks—& the Dr. tells me he can’t drive again under 2 months—so you see we too have had troubles—I went to see Edith EustisFriday—you knew she fell & broke her Rib—she is much better & expected to be up todayDid you ever feel such delicious June weather? It seems too good to be true—Forgive this scratch—I still can’t controle my hand—it brings you a heart full of love—Do take care of your self and remember I am
