My Altrude

Thank you so much for the tempting-looking bottle of Liquor—I dont think I have ever had any like it—Wm, & his pretty wife and 2 little ones brought it Xmas Eve, I was so glad to see them—you have been so sweet about calling up to see how I was getting on—I have had a pretty tough time but begin in to feel like myself again—I have missed seeing you so much—I do hope George is better

William told me you were at the Farm for Xmas—that makes me hope he is better, give him my love—I hope you are going to stop here before going back to New York.

Forgive this awful scratch—but I have not used pen & ink for nine months & my hand is so shakyEvery happy wish for the new year and many more to come—

“Miss Edith”
