Dearest "Trudie"

Your sweet note gave me so much pleasure except the part in which you say both you & George have been sick—I do hope that is all the thing of the past—& that his back is better—I miss seeing you—even the little glimpses I had—This has been a very busy year for me—being Woodrow’s Centinenal year— and Xmas. brought so many things I had to write personally—This is my 57th note since Jan. 1st

By the same token I wanted to write to ask you if the lovely “Dream Robe” I got from Altman’s was from you—? it came about 10 days before Xmas. with no card.

Elizabeth, who is still here, insisted it was for her—as the triplets were in New York & had written her thay were sending her a package from Altmans So she wrote to ask them & they took so long to answer as they were busy by that time & I knew there was no use asking the store to look up the card—as it was during the Xmas. rush

Please dont feel badly if it was not from you—but know that I dont want to be unappreciative—but I know you were sick and could not attend to Xmas shopping—Elizabeth has been here over a year except 3 months last summer when she went to town to have her cataracts removed from both eyes—thank goodness she got on beautifully & now with the aid of glasses sees perfectly—The triplets were away most of the time so she would have been alone.—They went to Alaska before Xmas. with Bob. Hopes show—they are now in Kansas City where they have been showing for 2. weeks—The rest of us are very well. Gertrude has to have a nurse all the time—Which leaves me free for other things. My love to you both—When will the Bride & groom be home—Wish I could have come to the Wedding—

“Miss Edith”
