Text

Dearest Altrude

I loved your little note and have to tell you so—although you said not to answer it—The service at the Cathedral Sunday was wonderful—I do wish you could have been there—but of course know George is your first thought—I am so sorry to hear he is so miserable—Give him my love

I have missed you very much this past year—It seems I have not seen you in all that time—but both of us are tied down with invalids—Gertrude holds her own pretty well—though we have to have a nurse with her all the time—I wish I could have come to Carys wedding—I hope this awful state the world is in will not shorten their wonderful trip—and I can meet the bride when they return—My desk is filled with unanswered letters—So I must stop but my thoughts go on and happy memories of days of yesteryear

always—With love

“Miss—” Edith
