Dearest Altrude
On Saturday Garfinkle sent the package of lovely stockings from you—and I felt for once you had not understood me—but your dear little note this morning reassured me and I feel it was really their error—Thank you a thousand times and let me add how much I will enjoy using them.
We read with much interest of Williams engagement and are anxious to know the lucky girl
I am so glad you are pleased and will be delighted to know her—When will they be married? The paper did not say—It is good news to hear you will be down again soon—for 2 reasons, that of seeing you—and because I am sure it means George is better—Do remember me to him—and with love and deep appreciation of your Xmas. thought—
Miss Edith
