Dearest Altrude
Here I am in New York and, as usual, you are somewhere else—so I am writing to thank you for your generous and delicious Xmas thought—I hope you can come and help me celebrate with some of it.
I came up Thursday to stay until tomorrow with Mrs. Morris and be here for the little celebration of Woodrow’sbirthday yesterday.
I had no idea we would be so gay—3 dinner parties, the opera & theatre—2 luncheons.
The one today is with Fanny Hurst at the Plaza—she was here to dinner Thursday—and I enjoyed her so much—Tomorrow I return to my quiet home where I hope I will see you before the New Year grows old—Every happy wish to you George and the boys
“Miss Edith”
