Dearest Trudie
I am overcome by your wonderful contribution to my Christmas spirits—The box came with no molestation and I can’t tell you how deeply I appreciate your dear thought—I hope you all had a happy Holiday and that you could have at least one of the boys with you—I got a card from Gordon—which I wish you would be good enough to tell him—when you write—how sweet he is to remember me.
We are having our first sleet storm of the Winter—the streets are like glass—and absolutely nothing moving—The “Woodrow Wilson Foundation” in NY are having a luncheon on Tuesday and presenting the medal to Gen— Smuts—who is to accept it by Radio.
I have my reservations to go over tomorrow night—and hope the storm will be over by that time—Perhaps if you are in NY— I may see you at the lunch—I would be so glad—for that would be the only chance as I plan to return on the 3rd.
Lots of happy wishes for the New Year and may it bring to us all the Peace for which we pray—
Miss Edith
