Text

Dear Dr Grayson

I am sending under separate cover and by registered mail another paragraph to be added to the statement I mailed on Saturday. It is marked page 5. It will make the statement I think quite complete.

In thinking over the patient’s case I cannot help feeling a little uneasy about the condition of the bladder. The latter is certainly very much over-distended and the amount of urine discharged can only be regarded as an overflow. At least it seems so to me. My fear is that the distention of the bladder may interfere with the outflow from the ureters and finally seriously with the function of the kidneys. Cystitis and fystitis, of course, also suggest themselves among the possibilities. I really think it would be wise to use the catheter—if only to once to make sure of the condition of the bladder.

Very sincerely

F.X. Dercum
