Dearest,

True to your prediction when I reached New York, Lacy met me, saying Mr. Baruch was at the Plaza Hotel waiting for me. Upon my arrival there I found a dinner party consisting of the Swartz Brothers, Tom L. Johnson, Mr. Mce—(Hot Springs over again). They had tickets for a prize fight at the Polo Grounds which I did not much enjoy—except to see a man named Gordon knock out a Jew,—Eckelstine—Morton Swartz took me to see his father, professionally, who has suffered a stroke of paralysis.

I arrived here at 7.25 this morning—had breakfast with Mr. Ross.

It is very lonesome here without you and the boys but I am glad you all are not here as it is so very warm to-day.

I enjoyed every minute of my stay with you and our dear little fellows. Do everything in your power not to let the boys come in contact with those which who have whooping cough. Most authorities seem to agree that there is considerable doubt about third party conveying the disease. So, it seems little harm or danger of you and Louise spreading the disease to our boys by you two going to New London together on the train.

I have not had a chance to visit Irene or 1600—but will do this evening. Have had a very busy day and went to Directors meeting—American Security & Trust Company.

Adolphus called to say good-bye—Christian asks that I look out for his Mother-in-Law—Give my best love to our darling little boys and more love than ever for my precious little girl—

Devotedly—
