Dearest Trudie
Saturday
I remained in bed until twelve to-day except to go down stairs for breakfast. Yesterday I got up at six went to the track to see them gallop, returned to bed at 8.30 until eleven when I went with Dr Russell to see Sande at the hospital. Each night I have gone to bed immediately after the sales, I am getting a real rest, as you see. The arrangements at 3 Mitchell Street are very satisfactory—
The telegram about Miss Bell’s winning was most appreciated. They celebrated with Champaine as if they had won the Kentucky Derby.
Have done practically nothing in speculating with Johny Walters since you left. Will do nothing to-day on Scoop or Flying Comet and be most happy to have the purse. Wilmer’s letter explains itself—
Your letter to-day made me happy to receive it. I did not make a bid at Sim’s sale. Many claim it was much faked no limit to Riddle’s chest since the Man ‘O War’s won. Arch is more sore than ever over him—
Mrs. Vanderbilt says I am a Doctor that inspires confidence in her—Dear love to our darling boys and my darling Trudie—Arch is calling to go. Hope to have a pen of my own soon—
Devotedly,
CTG
