Dearest Trudie

Last night I attended a farewell dinner which the Alfalfa Club gave to General Neville. I got home near one accompanied by ex-attorney General Gregory and Senator Key Pittman. It was an extremely warm night. It was held at the Army & Navy club. While I am all right, I have felt ke keener mentally. Mrs Wilson has asked me to come to lunch to help entertain John Craine—son of Charles R. Have to go to a Navy dinner to-night at the Raleigh Hotel. So you see this is a gay week for me. I wish that I could politely and diplomatically omit this evenings affair. Much love to you and the boys.

Affectionately,

CTG
