Dearest

I was greatly delighted to receive your letter Monday morning. I am writing these few lines standing as it is too hot in my office to sit down.

The enclosed check from Martin is the amount due Vultilla’s running second & third at Belmont Park, and the deduction of the three $10—is losing fee the association pays the jockey which is deducted from your account. Endorse check Hopeful Stable and then your name. You will have a $700—check coming from Acuduct at the end of that meeting.

I spent Sunday at Walkers and Reilly’s—The trip to and from in the train was accompanied by terrific heat. If there is anything left of me by the end of the week, I hope to meet you in New York.

I hope you and the boys continue to keep well, and free from the whooping cough—Best love—

Yours—
