Text

My dear Sir:-

Far be it from me to recommend to a physician, medicine for his patient, but don’t you agree with me that the enclosed editorial “A Powerflul Protest From the President” is richly deserved? - and may it prove “good medicine” to Mr. Wilson, all the more so from such a stalwart Republican paper as The Inquirer.

Would that the President may realize that he has to the full the strong respect, regard and wishes of us the vast majority of his fellow-countrymen who have no craving for the limelight or for any special privilege, and that what a Godsend to us all is his stand for the Right, regardless of person, on the Coal situation.

Everywhere one goes these last two days there is a feeling of relief and of thankfulness, and a girding to back the President in carrying out his authority. It is good for the Country, beyond expression.

To you and your colleagues goes a feeling of thanks and respect very real.

Yours truly,

Wm. T. Plummer.
