Text

My dear Grayson

Thank you very much for yours of the 26th. The prescription and accompanying medicine have arrived and I shall observe your directions carefully. I am glad to see that the President has postponed his trip to the West. I believe that it is good strategy in the present condition of the League of Nations as well as good judgment, because of his health. He might encounter a very hot time on the road that would be extremely exhausting if he did. I am thinking very strongly of running up to Saratoga. I’ll bet a dollar I would find you there if I should happen to go. Whenever there is a horse race anywhere in the country, and I want to find you, I first inquire at the race track and next at the White House. How is this for an analysis of your character and habits? Baruch is in Washington. If you should turn up at Saratoga, I’ll bet another dollar that he will be with you.

Nell joins me in love for you all at the house.
