Text

My dear Dr Grayson

I received a letter from Altrude just before leaving home telling me of her approaching marriage to you and granting me permission, which I had asked for, of writing to you—you are indeed a very fortunate man Doctor for you have won the heart of a very wonderful girl and it is with much pleasure that I extend to you my sincere congratulations—I am devoted to Altrude and her happiness means a great deal to me. In years gone by I have not understood her very well but now that I am shortly to be married myself I feel that I understand her and her sex better. She is much older than her years and possesses good sense and judgment therfore I feel that in giving you her love she has thought the matter out well and will make no mistake. You both will always have my very best wishes and ere long I hope to know you better—

Sincerely yours

PW Flournoy
