To:Major John M. Campbell, USA.
Subject: Detail ion Special Duty with the President’s Party
1. In compliance with authority contained in a radiogram from the Chief of Staff dated December 12, 1918, the Secretary of War directs that, you accompanied by Major Frank J. Griffin, 1st Lieut.Gictor L. Fleming and Private Dominick Tronalone, Signal Corps, report to Rear Admiral Cary T. Grayson, US Navy, for special duty with the Presidential Party for the purpose of taking photographs for historical record.
2. Upon completion of this duty you and the officers and enlisted man named in par. 1 will return to the United States in compliance with existing orders.
3. You are authorized to turn over to the Navy Department such prints or negatives of still and moving pictures as may be requested by that department.
4. Expense accounts for such necessary expenses as may be incurred in the performance of this duty, in excess of those paid by the State Department, will be submitted to the undersigned.
