Dear Doctor Dercum
I have received your letter of June 23rd and I want to thank you for it. Mr. Wilson is progressing very well, and although he has had some ups and downs, the situation is very much what it was when you last saw him. He has gained considerably in muscular strength, especially in his legs, which enables him to walk better. He often speaks of you affectionately, and I would have had you down to see him, but he did not like to put you to the trouble of coming. It is a case of no news being good news. Of course, if anything unfavorable should develop, I will communicate with you at once.
Will you not let me know where you can be reached this summer? I am rather hoping that you will go back to Narragansett Pier. Mrs. Grayson is there with the children, and if you are going to spend the summer there, I would have an opportunity to see you some of the weekends which I expect to spend with the family.
With kindest regards and best wishes,
Sincerely yours,
Cary T. Grayson
