Dearest,

I received your long letter afternoon and I can assure you that it was a most welcome epistle. I am so glad and delighted that you are having such a fine time.

I think it would be a fine plan to motor to Saratoga according to your plan as outlined. I should like to join you but the outlook for my getting away is a bit uncertain, but at that, I expect to make it, yet I fear that I’ll have to run back and forth. I am hoping, so much, that I can be there all the time you are there. You choose your time or day that you think best to arrive at Saratoga. The first day is on a Tuesday. I would like to get there by Wednesday or Thursday—much depending on the whether we have anything running on any of the days aforenamed. The first sale of interest is on —Hancocks—Walker—Mr. Ross & I sell Thursday, August 10th.

Glad to hear Kitty Smith is so handy with th a Dodge in case anything goes amiss. You will enjoy the trip. Better count on Mrs Barklie’schauffer driving the Dodge back.

I am still working on the Black Mountain proposition. Rozier Dulaney and Mr. Ross are helping which is valuable. Rozier expects to be able to give me some information to-morrow he considers valuable, if he can get it; then, I am going to see Stetson. Be sure to let me know what Walter Ward says & advises. I am playing golf quite often. It is warm but the thunderstorms are frequent. Tell Irene to “watch her step.” Hope she is getting all right.

Have attended to everything but take ton your personal taxes & Foreman. Will do all of this afternoon & to-morrow. The Marmon is in the shop—transportation is warm on foot these days—Very busy at Dispensary as so many are on leave.

Dearest love to you all— CTG.
