Dear Admiral

You have refused so long to communicate with me that it is difficult for me to have the audacity to write you again !! You are the worst correspondent I have ever encountered! Several times I tried to get hold of you in Washington on the telephone when last I was there, but understood you were at the Blue Ridge. I left word for you to call me up at the Hotel Washington when you returned and, although you got back before I left, you ignored me! I hope someday to be able to reestablish myself in your good graces. What can I do?

I expect to be in Washington on Tuesday afternoon next - and have written to the Hotel Washington to reserve a room for me. I am going to attend Hugh Wallace’s dinner to Marshall Foch on Tuesday Evening. I hope to get a glimpse of you and Gertrude while I am there. Give her my love. As for yourself, I reserve my comments until I can tell them to you in person.

As always

Affectionately yours,

WG McAdoo
