My Dear Doctor

Several years ago under your care, President Wilson spent a few weeks of the Winter weather in Pass Christian, Miss., and I had the great pleasure of delivering to him there, by the assistance of the Mayor and yourself, a nickel plated Table Nutcracker, and also a Hand Nutcracker similar to the ones shown on this letterhead; for which I received a nice letter of thanks, signed personally by the President, and I treasure it as one of my best possessions.

In a letter that I wrote to the Mayor asking him if possible to make this delivery, I stated that it was sent as a small token of regard from me-as a Texan- for Mr Wilson, not only because he was our president but-“ As a man in every sense of the word”-- and I have had no occasion to change my opinion since then, aand the great outpouring of Texas Democrats at Dallas, Texas, (where the Delegates were selected for San Francisco), with the splendid endorsement that they gave the Administration and President Wilson, showed plainly tyhat he was viewed in the same light, by hundreds of thousands of Texans, both Women and Men.

I have watched with interest his fight for poor Armenia, and feel that he is right in asking for the Mandate, because I believe that it is the Hand of God, that is pointing the way, and the United States will yet become more interested than at present in Armenian affairs. Was it not the indiscriminate slaughter of the Millions of Christian Armenians, that aroused the Sympathies of the whole World, against not only the Turks, but the GERMANS as their Master, who allowed it, and the people of the US were kept keyed up by this until other circumstances arose, that made it possible to enter the conflict.

Another thing if you will refer to Chapter #2, verses 10 to 15 of Genesis, you will read a description of the Garden of Eden; and also the four rivers that flowed from it, with their names: -and I inclose a map taken from a Bible in my Home, showing the new as well as old names of these rivers and their courses. This TERRITORY constitutes the present ARMENIA, Mt Ararat where Noah landed with the Ark being in the identical Territory. Was it not GODS HANDS, that landed him in the same country as the Garden Of Eden, and started to populate the World again from that same source.

Since the days of Noah, the country comprising Armenia, has been practically closed to the Civilization of the World, as compared to other Countries, and in the last 1000 years or more while in the hands of the Turks, has been little visited, and practically nothing known about it, and what treasures it contains. Read verses 11 to 12 with a description of Havilah, and the GOLD that it contains along with prescious stones &&. If we can believe the Bible, may this not be a Revelation, and this the proper time, for the United States to take hold and unfold the great Treasures that Armenia undoubtedly contains.

Dont you think that our-“dearly beloved friends”- the US SENATE, would changge their minds on the question if they could just realize the possibilities, and the Opportunities that would be offered for the benefit of their “-best friends”-, and find some way to indorse the movement. May we hope that something of this kind will happen for there is no telling what the future may unfold there.

If he will accept I will be glad to forward to you for President Wilson one of my “Perfection” Nut Bowls, with a set, (6) of the smaller individual Bowls, in either real Mahogany or real Walnut as he may desire. Trusting that you will receive this letter in the spirit it is written I remain,

Yours very sincerely,

FW Fort

P.S. I had the great pleasure of meeting here recently Postmaster General Burleson at the "Diamond Jubilee" of Baylor University, in Waco, Texas, which he attended about 38 years abo. The writer was also a schoolmate of Mr. Burleson at A. and M. College of Texas in 1877-1878, 43 years ago.
