Text
Dearest,
I am feeling better to-day but my neck still aches at times—but I have been out for a ride in a motor this afternoon. To-morrow, I am going to get Dr Mc Lean to do a little work for me. The weather here is not cold but raw and damp, nearly every one has colds. So far, I have been lucky. Everything has been going fine with me until this neck trouble.
I went with the President to-night to hear Bishop Brent, the Senior Chaplain in the army. Chaplain Jones of the Salvation Army, Rabbi Wise and others speak at the services for the soldiers—entitled Comrods “Comrades in Service”. It was a great scene—about seven thousand soldiers present. The speeches were unusually good.
Please note I am making pretty good record for church going over here. Notwithstanding, my associations with the Pope and attending the theater on Sunday night at Milan.
I love you and miss you terribly. This is your birth-day my darling, I wish so I could be with you. I sent you a cable of love and congratulations. To-morrow, I am going to get you a little remembrance of this day which means so much in my happy life—
Good—night,
CTG.
