Text
Sighted the Azores this morning, also got a sight of George Creel and other sea-sick passengers.
I treated professionally the wife of the new Ambassador to Great Britain. She takes her prospective official duties very seriously already.
We all go to the Moving Pictures every night. I wish for you, my precious one every day. The way I miss you is something terrible. I am so hungry for some news from you.
Wednesday.
I walked the decks to-day for more than an hour with G. Creel talking French. I am studying some every day. I wish for your help and your dear, charming presence. I now realize how very dependent I am on my partner & I am sure you would approve of the modest way in which I brag about you and Gordon.
Thursday.
We are now off the edge of the Bay of Biscay and due at Brest to-morrow at 1.30 P.M. The American Fleet, accompanied by the English, French and Italians are to meet us. The weather is warmer than I anticipated, but foggy and damp.
Friday.
Amid great excitement and much noise we are arriving at Brest. The day is ideal in weather and otherwise. If you were only with me everything would be perfect. The President is in number one condition. My heart is all with you and all yours, my dearest and sweetest little partner and sweetheart. Love to dear little Gordon and all for your dear self. Please take care of yourself.
Ever your devoted—
