Text

Dearest Sweetheart

I wish you were here or I was with you. The operation went all right but it was ten times more difficult then I ever dreamed. But I feel confident that it the result is going to be really fine and result in much comfort and good for future health.

No one but Miss E. knows a thing about it. He is a hero—and truly the most wonderful man in the world. I like, admire and love him more and more from every day I know him.

It was dear in you to call me last evening and I was so happy to hear your darling voice.

I am going to run out to dine with Ned McLean, Mr Ross is also to be present. So glad you like Mrs. McLean, I think that she has lots of good sense—and certainly has been the making of Ned.

This is just a hurried note to tell you what means so much, turned out all right, so far—and I feel confident of the outcome. Remember me to Miss Eleanor.

All my love for Trudie— I’m staying here to-night
