Tuesday,
Paris.
Sweetheart,
The letters which Lacey delivered have given me so much happiness. I have read them over three times.
I have just been down and had a nice visit with BMB—
The President has told me that he has accepted the Attorney General’s resignation. He is thinking of appointing Mitchell Palmer. Sharp was a failure here as an Ambassador. The Embassy loss my own coat and uniform suit which Tautz & sons sent here, and I am naturally pretty sore “agin his bunch,” I hope that Hugh will be more careful—especially about packages—
Thanks for the shoulder marks and other new devices. You thoughtful, dear, darling child—
Rear Admiral Andrew Long—the naval attaché here is a fine fellow and he is particularly nice to me in every way. You met him with Franklin Roosevelt at Yorktown. This is a hurried note to catch the US Pouch which is now due to go—so must hurry on—Lots of love for both you and Gordon and continue to make me happy by taking good care of your dear self.
