Dear Admiral Grayson:
I noticed in the paper that you were going to be in New York for the sad duty of being a pall bearer at Bob Bender’s funeral. While I did not know Mr. Bender intimately, I had known him a great many years, and his death was a shock to me.
Your name reminded me that I am still hopeful one day of making the deal with you for the story that you are writing, and would appreciate it if you would let me know what if any progress you are making. Your secretary told me that you had been ill with shingles, and I hope that you are now fully recovered.
With best wishes,
Yours sincerely,
JN Wheeler by BW
