Dear Sir:

Pardon me for interfering with you or your patient but I would ask a favor of you. Unbeknown to the President or anyone else but yourself, like a real good fellow, please prepare the herbs I am sending you strictly as per directions. Take the dose prescribed yourself the first night, or try it out on somebody’s dog if you are afraid of it. It is composed of God’s pure herbs and would not injure a four year old child, but it would purify his system and regulate his bowels, and make him happy and cheerful.

I hope you will be kind enough to try out this remedy to your satisfaction. When you are satisfied that it is purity itself, I would advise you to give it to the President just in accordance with the directions given you and you will find he will be happier and a pleasanter man the next morning. Don’t tell him how you came by the remedy and I assure you there is no string attached to it. It is simply one of my herb remedies which have never failed to do their work properly. I take the same remedy myself about four times a year when housecleaning is necessary and I am a very healthy man, 75 years old the 2nd of last August. I would ask you to be kind enough to report results when you are well satisfied in your own mind.

Respectfully yours,
