My dear Seibold

I have received your letter of the 8th and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your going to all this trouble about my article. What you said in your previous letter and in the memorandum was, of course, of great interest to me, and I want you to know how grateful I am to you for giving me your judgment. I felt, however, after deliberating over the matter that I should adhere to my original purpose and dwell upon the immediate subject of the article. It seemed to me that the article would be more effective if I confined myself principally to Mr. Wilson, and, of course, indirectly to Mr. Harding.

The thought has occurred to me that Mr. Wheeler may be interested in reading the article as I prepared it. If he does, please let me know and I will forward it. I may say that I embodied in a general way the suggestions which you were good enough to make.

I noted all that you had to say in regard to a series of articles which could be syndicated by Mr. Wheeler. For your information, I wish to tell you that I prepared some time ago a series of five articles based principally on my experience at the White House. It was my purpose to publish these articles some time ago, but after giving the matter careful thought I concluded that it would be better to defer their publication for the present. I will talk with you further about this when I see you.

I hope Frank Cobb continues to improve. Mr. Wilson inquires frequently as to whether I have any news as to his condition.

I am delighted to know that you witnessed My Own’s performance. I would rather have Mrs. Grayson go up and receive the cup, as she did, than to receive dozens myself.

I had much pleasure in conveying your kind message to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson.

I hope to see you soon.

With kindest regards,

Sincerely yours,

Cary T. Grayson
