To the Board of Governors
Chevy Chase Club
Chevy Chase, Maryland

Gentlemen:

I wish to recommend Colonel Edwin M. Watson for resident membership. He has held non-resident membership in the Club for twenty-two years.

Colonel Watson is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Artillery Corps of the United States Army, and is now detailed here as The President’s Military Aide. He has an excellent standing in the Army and is very popular. Colonel Watson was detailed by General Pershing as special Military Aide to President Wilson during the Peace Conference, where he handled many delicate situations with exceptional ability.

Colonel Watson is a particular friend of mine. He has a charming and gifted wife, and I would consider them both valuable additions to the membership of any club.

Sincerely yours,

Cary T. Grayson,
Chairman
