Text

Dear Mr. Meyer:

Thank you very warmly for your letter and for the fine offer of your home at Mt. Kisco. Unfortunately, I do not think it feasible for the President to leave Washington at this time, but should we find it advantageous for him to do so later on, I shall be glad to keep your offer in mind. I have not as yet showed your letter to the President, but I shall do so. I know he will not only be touched but will greatly appreciate your thoughfulness and your kindness.

I am sorry to hear that you have been suffering from neuritis. I sincerely trust that your rest at the White Sulphur proved beneficial. I do not want to inflict my professional skill on you, but if I can be of any assistance to you at any time, just remember that I am yours to count on.

With warm regards,

Sincerely yours,

Hon. Eugene Meyer, Jr.
