Mrs. Woodrow Wilson

Washington, DC

My dear Mrs. Wilson

Even at the risk of seeming inexcusably audacious I feel irresistaibly impelled to write you regarding the new Bio-Dynamo-Chromatic System of Diagnosis that if you or your physician knew the value of, I believe you might be glad to have our President receive the benefit of; a benefit that has been given to thousands and one that is seldom believed, nor could it be expected to be believed until thoroly investigated and finally proven.

In a matter, delicate as this is, I did not know whether to address a letter to you, or to Dr. Grayson directly, and if I have taken the wrong course in addressing you, or indeed writing at all in this unsolicited manner, I hope both you and Dr. Grayson will forgive me and will believe that I am doing this with the sincerest interest alone of President Wilsons health. I wish to state frankly, that I doubt if Dr. Grayson is familiar with this diagnostic system, realizing as I do that his life has been too busy to look into ebverything. No one can kleep posted on everything, nor should he try in this day of specialization. I have been doing research work for a number of years, and for the past 6 years have been specializing in this work.

In a letter like this it is impossible to enlighten one much as to the workings of the system, and I regret to say that I have little literature at hand to enclose pertaining to it, however I will take the liberty to enclose some leaflets referring to the work, including one that came out yesterday in the International Brief. I will state briefly that it is a system of diagnosing toxemias only, and will detect those caused by infections, cancer, tuberculosis, venereal diseases, malaria, grip, autointoxication, colon absorbtion, bladder, kidney, those concomitant with neurotic conditions, drugs, etc. It is possible to diagnose these conditions in any stage, localize them in any part of the body, and without history. I know full well that such a statement sounds so absurd at first as to possibly justify, in the eyes or mind of the reader, resentment. I also realize my inability to in this manner convince any one that my statements are correct, but, according to their application to it, and ability to handle it, there are perhapds a thousand physicians now, in the US and England, using this system as a routine for diagnose,is if not for treatment. As you may notice on an enclosed program, Dr. Frank E. Miller, New York Citys emminent nose and throat specialist discussed, amongst other able physicians, my paper and demonstration. Dr. Miller told the Society that Dr. Joslin has given me the most remarkable demonstration of any I have seen pertaining to diagnosis and treatment. He has diagnosed over 40 cases in my practice, without taking history previously, and so far as I know, without making one mistake."

The work, entirely founded on well known laws of physics, and the same laws on which wireless telegrapyhy is based, has been so successful in the diagnosis and treatment of obscure conditions, thtat I founded a 30 bed hospital and sanatorium in the West, entirely on and for this wroork. That was over 5 years ago. Having thoroly proved the work on hundreds of cases, I came to New York to give it to the world from this center. Am just getting settled, and as you notice, have no personal stationery as yet. This is because I have not been able to permanently locate because of legal technicalities in obtaining my New York license.

In a word, I may say that the work is done thru vibration of radiant color screens as effecting the reflexes, which effect is manifested thru air column percussion over the patients abdomen. The greatest benefit in diagnosis is that it accurately and infallibly shows, even in the most incipient stage, just those things that are not, have never been nor cannot be shown by the Xray, or anything else, and shows immediately and so plainly that the patient himself can notivce it. Theodore Roosevelt became so interested in the work that, not long before he passed out he obtained the 1400 page book of Dr. Whites on this subject, and was thoroly investigating it.

With the rest of the whole world, I have been keenly watching all news of President Wilsons condition, and I feel very certain that, not to speak of what I consider would be of unquestionable benefit in the treatment of his condition, judging on general principles, the Bio-Dynamo-Chromatic System of Diagnosis would elicit some very important conditions. I have not the slightest idea that I am able to impress you seriously, indeed you will probably think me a crank, but if perchance you should be interested, and this of course includes Dr. Grayson, I would be pleased to come to Washington, give the President the benefit of the diagnosis, and Dr. Grayson the demonstration, and show him every detail as to how to do the work. As for expected results of the diagnostic end of it, I would expect to elicit some conditions, heretofore obscure because there is no other known method to show them. It just spans the gap in diagnosis we have always needed. It is not used instead of, but in addition to all other known methods. I would expect to prove to the satisfaction of Dr. Grayson the exactness and almost infallibility of theis branch of the science.

I would be glad to refer you to Dr. Frank E. Miller, 17 West 54th Strseet, Dr. Charles W. Hack, Cheief Diagnostician of the New York Life Extension Institute, and to Dr. Wm H. Fitzgerald, Hartford, Conn., all who have investigated the work.

I sincerely hope that if by writing this letter I have done no one any good, I have not on the contrary caused any offense. It is my most earnest wish and constant prayer that our President may soon regain his health.

Very sincerely,

OW Joslin, MD
