Dearest Trudie

I waited to answer your lovely letter—until you got home—and I do hope the 2nd visit to Saratoga was as delightful as your first one—and that all Grayson colors were first in all the races.

We get no papers or mail here on Sunday so I don’t know what happened yesterday—but I remember “My Own” was to run—and I rooted hard for her to win—

I wrote the Dr. a week ago and told him I was waiting to find out how the motor trip was from Stockbridge to East Hampton—hoping we could at least spend a night with you all en route to Atlantic City. But—I am sorry to say the time is now so short that I think we will have to take the most direct route—and then we will have only 48 hours to spare—and I promised Mother I would certainly try to be with her at Atlantic City a few hours days—

Thank you, dear, just the same for wanting us—and I am awfully sorry we can’t make it—this year—Randolph asks me to tell you both how he appreciates your wanting him—and sends you lots of love.

We have both had the best rest—there is nothing like the air here in Maine—It reminds me so of our visit to Kineo—when every day is asmore radiant than the other—and the stars are bigger & brighter than anywhere I have ever been—you probably will go to the Polo games and be hobnobbing with the Prince—

I had a sweet note from Mrs. Eustis, saying she was going—and I almost know you will join her—Please give her my love—also to “Zuna” & those dear boys—Polly Phelps is in Camden & came to see me the other day—& wanted to know all about you—Dear love and appreciation to you and the Dr. from

“Miss Ede”
