Text

Dearest Child

I know you will forgive my using a pencil for I am trying to steal 20 minutes rest before dressing for the dinner at the Willard given by the “Chamber of Commerce of the US which is meeting here—and this seems the only time I have for a talk with you—We are on the sofa in my room—

“WW” sitting up straight making notes for 2 speeches he has to make tonight—and I with my head in the pillows and feet on his knee—am supremely comfortable & happy—For fear I will have to stop before the 20 minutes is up I will write the most important thing first and this is—Can’t you come back with Cary next week for your little visit to me?—Any day or time suits me—and you can arrange the other 2 visit to the Cathedral & Ruth Noyes to suit yourself only I want you to be sure to stay for the last State dinner of the season which is set for the 22nd and so just make your plans & let me know—

I had a little talk with CTG this A.M. & he says he is going up tommorrow & that Mrs– Mosley is with you—So this is just the time for you to steal off & leave her & Mrs F. together to have a good time

I am crazy to see & talk to you & tell you how tenderly interested I am in all your plans and how I covet the privilege of helping you in any way I possibly can—

Thank you for telling me all your plans—and when you come I will then talk what time will not permit of my writing—

Here I had to stop—so this is not an answer to your letter—Just a note to say I love you & want you to come as soon as you can

Am now dressed & have on my coat—Love to Miss Buna & Mrs– Mosley & all the rest for your family

“Miss Ede”

Saw Soursey Yesterday- Ask me about view.
