Dearest Little One
As you see from the date of the preceeding note it was written over a week ago—and next morning when I told Susie I wanted her to mail it for me she said she had seen Lizzie the night before & you had wired her you would be home on Monday the 27th so I knew the letter could not possibly reach you so held it—thinking I would hear from you myself—But so far—Silence—!!
I have been by your house twice but failed to find anybody and CTG can tell me nothing
I am frankly worried and afraid something is wrong—or you have been sick—Please end our anxiety Dearest by a line if nothing else—
It is just a year ago yesterday since you brought me home such a wreck—and I can never forget all your tender care—Bless your heart I want you so—and it seems doubly hard that I can’t find you when I wanted you to be the first to learn the secret of my great happiness—
Do hurry up and come and know that I love you.
Always
Miss Ede—
