Text
Grayson and Ruffin and Stitt
“The president’s pulse is quite normal,
“His appetite fills us with glee,
“He sleeps well at night and his breathing is right,
“He’s improving as fast as can be.
“We are sure, by a week from next Sunday,
“He’ll be feeling remarkably fit,
“But while nothing is wrong, we’re afraid he’s not strong”—
Said Grayson and Ruffin and Stitt.
“He cracked jokes all yesterday morning,
“And tonight wrote a note to a friend;
“He eats like a horse, and his backache, of course,
“We find to be well on the mend.
“Please don’t pay attention to rumors,
“By our bulletins patiently sit,
“We’ll do all that we can for this very sick man”—
Said Grayson and Ruffin and Stitt.
