Professor Max Verworn, of Bonn Physiological Institute, Germany, who however publishes his book, “Irritability,” at New Haven, Connecticut, by the Yale University Press, states:– “Irritability, in the physiological sense, is life.” And,– "Whith the analysis of irritability” (energy, anhd the power of re-action) “we shall investigate life itself. ” .....“This brings us to the study of fatigue.” (i.E. Exhaustion, or the inability to re-act.)
“The state of fatigue in all aerobic organisms – organisms that require free oxygen for the maintenance of their vitality – is invariably brought about by deficiency of oxygen. In other words, fatigue is in–variably asphyxiation.”
It has been proven that a human being can exist without food for 40 days, Dr. Tanner having supplied the proof. In an open boat at sea, surely we can exist several days without water. But to be deprived of Oxygen, smothering or drowning for a minute or two, we are gone; or if practically dead, may even be brought back to life by a forced supply of Oxygen thru artificial respiration. So much for Oxygen.
Samuel Christian Schmucker, Professor of Biology at The State Normal School at West Chester, Pa. since the discovery of Radium, states:– Of all the 80 Elements of which the Universe was supprosed to have been composed, that perhaps THE ATOMS OF ALL THE ELEMENTS ARE MAEDE UP OF A CORE& OR NUCLEUS OF POSITIVE ELECTRICITY AND A GROUP OF MANY SURROUNDING NEGATIVE PARTICLES (ELECTRONS), THE DIFFERENT ELEMENTS DIFFERING IN THE NUMBER AND RELATIVE POSITION OF THE ELETRNONS (NOT THEIR NATURE).”
Frederick Finch Strong MD of Los Angeles also states:– “In the laboratory of science we have proven that all material atoms are complex and seem to be formed of centres of positive and negative elecrttricity.”
And altho Professor Max Verforn, in 1917, warns: “Nothing in the facts yet accumulated justify even a tentative conclusion that life is a form of electrical energy,
”–IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 1919, I, ELIZABETH PRICE LEWIS ASSERT, THAT OXYGEN IS ONE OF THE ELEMENTS COMPOSED OF AN UNIQUE ARRANGEMENT OF ELECTRONS OF NEGATIVE ELECTRICITY AROUND A POSITIVE NEUCLEUS, THAT HAS AN ESPECIAL AFFINITY TO ANIMAL AND HUMAN ORGANISMS AND IS ESSENTIAL TO THEIR VITALITY. THAT LIFE – VITALITY - IS ELECTRICITY, AS SUPPLIED BY FOOD AND DRINK – those Elements also – BUT MOST FULLY AND FREELY IN OXYGEN.
SO–CALLED NERVOUS PROSTRATION, “SHELL-SHOCK”, GENERAL NEURASTHENIA ETC. ARE THE AFFECTS OF A FUNDAMENTAL CAUSE, WHICH IS VITAL EXHAUSTION, superinduced by over expenditure or shock of OVER EXPENDITURE OR SHOCK, OF TWO OR MORE OF THE VITAL PARTS OF OUR BEING:– THE PHYSICAL, MENTAL OR EMOTIONAL.
THE CURE is a concentrated form of THE REST–CURE devised by the late Dr. S. Weir Mitchell, which shourld only be a matter of a few days , as RECORDED BY THE PULSE REGISTRATION, – that recoord of our personal vibration – Electricity, – the re-establishment of rRE-ACTION being demonstrated in the ability TO SLEEP IN LENGTHENING CONTINUANCE OF HOURS, from at first 1 – to perhaps 6, without waking.
