Text

The President rested quite late and had no guests at luncheon. After luncheon he sent for me and told me that he wanted to confer with Messers. Baruch, McCormick, Davis, Lamont and Dr. Taussig. I rounded them up and the President read his message to them and explained to them what his plans were. The President asked if there were any suggestions or criticisms to be made, but inasmuch as he had fully covered the ground none were forthcoming that were of a tangible nature.

After dinner the President attended the movies as usual.
