SATURDAY,

After dinner, the President told me he had just accepted the resignation of Attorney General Gregory and he had decided to appoint Walker D. Hines Director General of Railroads, to succeed Secretary McAdoo in charge of the railway systems of the country. The appointment was made on the recommendation of Secretary McAdoo.
