SPECIAL ORDERS
NO. 51

Extract.

Pursuant to authority Hqrs. S.O.S. Jan 17, 1919. and in further accordance with telephonic communication Tours, Februaty 19, 1919. 2nd. Lt. John K Sawyer, MTC and Sergeant Edward D Shoor MT Co. 681, MTC will proceed by rail to Tours, France, on duty connected with the Motor Transport Corps, reporting upon arrival to the ODMTC. Upon completion of this duty, this Officer and this soldier will return to their proper station.

The Quartermaster Corps is authorized to furnish the necessary transportation for the above enlisted man and will pay this soldier commutation of rations at the prescribed rate for the necessary number of days travel, it being impracticable for him to carry rations in kind or to be messed with any Organization while on this duty.

The travel directed is necessary in the Military service.
