Dear Mr. President

Referring to your note of May 11, 1917, requesting weekly reports of allotments made from the $100,000,000 appropriation for "National Security and Defense," I have to advise you that since the date of the fourth report transmitted to you by letter of June 9, 1917, notices of your approval of the following additional allotments have been received at the Treasury Department:

June 12, 1917. -To Shipping Board, for repairs to Austrian vessels CLARA, TERESA, and ANNA, and Germanvessels BARBAROSSA, GROSSER KURFURST, PRINZ JOACHIM, and GEORGE WASHINGTON ---------------------------------------------------------------1, 080, 000. 00
June 12, 1917. -To Shipping Board, for additional repairs to German ship STEINBEK ------------------------2, 500. 00
June 12, 1917. -To Shipping Board, for expenses incident to transfer of steamer COLUMBIA at San Francisco, Cal. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------275.00
June 12, 1917. -To Department of Commerce, for extension of equipment and production of optical glass at thePittsburgh laboratory of the Bureau of Standards for use in the Naval Service -----------75, 000. 00
