Text

Dear Mr. President

This is a great day in history for the "moving of the waters" of the mind of the world, yea even I dare believe the mind of the German people, which will be reckoned as having been observed in connection with your wonderful message in reply to the Pope.

Of course it is related to your other powerful truth presentations, but it can and will stand by itself as the most comprehensive as well as terse putting of a world situation a condition existing. I cannot express my profound sense of the presence of the all informing mind of Deity as I read this evidence that America has been given the Master Mind of the World in this crisis.

I have faith to believe that it demonstrates the power as well as the sincerity of your prayers to the overruling Power of Godwho ever works through Men.

I thank you as I take heart of courage for a strengthened hope.

I am now in receipt of your most honoring response to my previous word but I cannot refrain from telling you of my deep response to and faith in your noble reply to the Pope, and German imperialism.

Sincerely yours
George Foster Peabody

His Excellency
The Honorable Woodrow Wilson
President
