Text

My dear Mr. President

Our mutual friend, Mr. Close, showed me a letter he had received from a graduate of Princeton, who is now with the YMCA in France. It discloses a condition so distressing that I thought you would like to read it, and so I am sending you a copy.

Sincerely,
Josephus Daniels

The President.
