Text

My dear Mr. President,

The enclosed letter was read by Senator Pomerene the other day in Cleveland. It seemed to me so beautiful that I had my stenographer, who was present, make a copy for you to see. The original was in one of the Slovinian dialects. This is a translation.

Respectfully,
Newton D. Baker
Secretary of War.

The President,
The White House.
