Text

My dear Mr. President

I have your letter of the 21st instant, inclosing memorandum relative to the proposed appointment of Miss Florence Keller as a member of the National War Labor Board.

There has been a large number of letters and telegrams received from various organizations of women insisting upon two women being added to the War Labor Board, one representative of working women and the other representative of employers. No action has thus far been taken by the War Labor Board by way of recommendation of an increase. Should the Board determine to increase its membership by adding two women, I will see to it that Miss Keller is not one of them.

Faithfully yours,
W. B. Wilson
Secretary.

The President,
The White House
