Text

Dear Mr. President

Senator Kenyon informs me that he believes great expedition could be accomplished with the Food Bill in the Senate by the introduction of the Lever Bill at once from the Senate Agricultural Committee to the floor of the Senate as the Senate measure. I understand from him that the committee, owing to its internal divisions, would only be likely to do this “by request” and that the request would need come from yourself. If it were done it would place the Food Bill in front of the discussion on the Revenue Bill and would probably save a month or two in time.
I am, His Excellency,The President of the United States.HCH-Sp

Your obedient servant,
Herbert Hoover
