Text

Dear Mr. President

I send you herewith, for your information, copy of a letter I have just sent to the Attorney General. This is, in part, an answer to the Attorney General's letter to you of April 17th. I also enclose sample badge which the “Secret Service” Division of the American Protective League is using.
I dislike more than I can express to burden you with matters of this character, but I regard this organization as having very harmful possibilities. It seems to be very much in line with the “Sons of Liberty” organized during the American Revolution and through which many injustices and abuses resulted. The President,The White House.Enclosures.

Cordially yours,
WG McAdoo
