Thank you warmly for your letter of April tenth. It renders me not a little uneasy to learn that you are going to venture upon the seas at this time. I wish I knew of some way of adding to your security.
It is generous of you to ask whether there is anything I can suggest that you could do. I am sorry to say that my mind is barren upon that matter at present, but I shall trust to your own knowledge of affairs and of the opportunity to find out the things that will be of greatest service. I am heartily glad that you should be actively associated with the National Research Council.
Please give my warm regards to Mrs. Reid.
It is very lonely sometimes when I must go for so long without seeing my friends, but my absorption just now is so great that fortunately I do not have time to think of my bereavement.
With the best wishes,
Cordially and sincerely yours,
Prof. Harry Fielding Reid,
608 Cathedral Street,
Baltimore, Maryland.
