My dear Dr. Fraser:-

I had promised myself with a good deal of confidence that I could attend the Celebration of the Church which you are planning for the 30 October; but I now find to my great disappointment that official duties will keep me at home.

I know how great a pleasure I am missing, and I assure you that I am acting against my inclination. Pray express to the Committee in charge of the Celebration my warm appreciation of their invitation and my sincere regret at being obliged to decline.
With much regard,

Cordially and Sincerely yours,
Woodrow Wilson
