Dearest Joe
Woodrow Wilson
Of course, I will be glad to have you visit Shadow Lawn. Nell has taken refuge there with her baby to escape the neighborhood of paralysis cases, but I am sure that if Kate and Alice and you go alone, she would welcome the invasion into her refuge.
It is impossible to tell even yet when we are to get away, but in any case the notification ceremonies will take place at Shadow Lawn and probably on the second. It now seems likely that we shall be up there only for that day and then be obliged to come back.
I am heartily glad you are having a real vacation and feel refreshed by it. I wonder if I shall ever have one!
In haste, with most affectionate messages from us all to you all,
Woodrow Wilson
