Text

My dear Mr. East

December 11, 1910 Absence from home and extraordinary pressure of engagements have prevented my replying sooner to your kind letter of November 30th enclosing resolutions of the Woodrow Wilson Democratic Club of Staunton. I beg that you will extend to the members of the club my warmest thanks. It gratifies me very deeply that they should form so high an estimate of my character and abilities, and it is partivcularly delightful to me to be so judged in my native City.
May I not bid the club “God-speed” in its work for the success of the Democratic party, and now I believe rejuvenated to render the country a great service if wisely guided.
With much respect,Mr. Wilson left before letter was written.

Cordially and sincerely yours,
Woodrow Wilson
